Senior Production Engineer - Robotics Automation
Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Production Engineer with expertise in Robotics Automation to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated production systems that enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industrial robotics, automation principles, and process optimization, coupled with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Develop and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programs for automated systems. Integrate various robotic systems, sensors, and vision inspection equipment into production lines. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues, ensuring minimal downtime on the production floor. Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new automation projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and maintenance, to identify automation opportunities. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for robotic systems. Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on automation technologies and best practices. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in robotics, automation, and manufacturing technologies. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for all automated systems. Participate in the selection and procurement of automation equipment and components. Manage project timelines and resources for automation implementation initiatives. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering, with a strong focus on industrial robotics and automation. Proven experience with programming and integrating robots from major manufacturers (e.g., KUKA, FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa). Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development. Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, and actuators. Experience with CAD software for automation design. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles. Project management experience is a plus. Certification in robotics or automation is advantageous.
