Remote Principal Industrial Automation Engineer
Our client is looking for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Principal Industrial Automation Engineer to join their fully remote engineering department. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems across various manufacturing and industrial processes. You will lead the development of innovative automation solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Responsibilities include conceptualizing and designing automation architectures, selecting appropriate hardware and software components (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems), developing control logic and programming, and integrating complex systems. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, commissioning, and providing ongoing support for automated facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial control systems, robotics, and manufacturing processes. Proven experience with major PLC programming platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), SCADA systems, and HMI development is essential. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IIoT, and data analytics for process optimization is highly desirable. Strong project management skills, the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and excellent problem-solving abilities are required. You must be adept at working independently and collaborating effectively in a remote environment. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial automation engineering, is necessary.
