Principal Industrial Automation Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a Principal Industrial Automation Engineer to lead transformative projects within their manufacturing operations. This is a fully remote position, offering unparalleled flexibility while demanding cutting-edge expertise in automation systems. You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of complex industrial automation solutions across multiple facilities. This includes specifying hardware and software, developing PLC/SCADA systems, designing robotic integration, and ensuring seamless communication between various automation components. Your role will involve evaluating existing automation infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IIoT, AI, and machine learning in manufacturing processes. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and IT, to achieve strategic automation goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in industrial automation across diverse manufacturing sectors. Proven expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), SCADA systems, HMI development, industrial networking, and robotic systems is essential. Experience with simulation software and project management methodologies is highly desirable.
