Operations Director - Technology Startups
Our client is a fast-growing technology startup seeking an accomplished and visionary Operations Director to lead their operational strategy and execution. This is a critical, fully remote leadership role that will shape the company's growth trajectory. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, including process improvement, resource allocation, supply chain management, and ensuring seamless integration across various departments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in scaling operations within dynamic startup environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing robust operational strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals. Overseeing day-to-day operational activities, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Managing and optimizing supply chain logistics, vendor relationships, and procurement processes. Implementing and refining operational workflows and best practices to enhance performance. Leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and cross-departmental synergy. Developing and managing operational budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities. Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational success. Implementing and managing technology solutions to streamline operations. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Mentoring and developing the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Driving innovation and identifying new opportunities for operational growth. Communicating operational plans and performance to the executive team and stakeholders. Working autonomously and effectively leading teams in a fully remote setup.
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred. You should have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the technology or startup sector. Demonstrable experience in scaling operations, implementing process improvements, and managing complex projects is essential. Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills are a must. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage a remote team and collaborate across the organization. Experience with agile methodologies and a deep understanding of startup dynamics are highly valued.
