Director of Product Design

We're looking for an Associate Director/Director - Product Design who can combine strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on design craftsmanship. You will lead a team of talented UX professionals to create user experiences that delight millions of travelers. In this role, you'll operate at the intersection of business, design, and technology, crafting experiences that are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with MakeMs' mission of making travel easy and joyful.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage UX Teams: Build, lead, and mentor a team of UX designers and researchers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Champion User-Centric Design: Drive design thinking and user-first principles across teams. Conduct user research, synthesize insights, and ensure design decisions are rooted in real user needs.
  • Develop UX Strategy: Define and execute UX roadmaps that align with business goals, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product, tech, marketing, and leadership teams to translate business requirements into engaging user experiences.
  • Oversee Design Execution: Guide design direction for information architecture, interaction models, and visual design. Review deliverables to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Drive UX Maturity: Establish efficient UX processes, standards, and methodologies to scale design excellence across the organization.
  • Measure and Improve: Leverage user feedback, analytics, and usability testing to drive data-informed design decisions.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep the team inspired by staying current with UX trends, tools, and emerging technologies.


Requirements:

  • Experience: 13-16 years of experience in UX Design, with at least 3-5 years in leadership roles.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead design teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Design Expertise: Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, information architecture, and usability.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align UX vision and strategy with broader business and product goals.
  • Execution Excellence: Strong grasp of prototyping tools and design systems; hands-on when needed.
  • Analytical Mindset: Data-driven decision-making backed by user research and metrics.
  • Innovation: Passion for exploring new design paradigms and pushing creative boundaries.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced environment.
