Associate Cloud Security Architect

As an Associate Cloud Security Architect at IBM, you will play a crucial role in securing cloud services and workloads across public and hybrid environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assisting with risk assessments, compliance reviews, and the integration of security into cloud operations. This is a full-time, permanent position within the IT & Information Security department, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and evolving field. Key Responsibilities Provide security guidance for cloud services and workloads. Assist with risk assessments, compliance reviews, and security control validation. Collaborate with teams to integrate security into cloud operations and DevOps processes. Monitor emerging threats and recommend improvements to security posture. Help develop and maintain security standards, policies, and best practices. Participate in security-related projects and initiatives. Continuously learn and apply cloud security frameworks, tools, and best practices. Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field. 3+ years of experience in IT General or related technical roles. 1+ years of experience in security, compliance, or risk management. Experience with major public cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with cloud-native services (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS). Strong understanding of core cloud security domains, including IAM, encryption, and secure networking. Preferred Skills / Attributes Experience with threat modeling, risk assessments, or security audits. Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR). Exposure to secure software development practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD security automation). Excellent communication skills for explaining security concepts.
