Advanced WordPress Developer Opportunity

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for working on our custom WordPress engine, building and maintaining advanced Gutenberg blocks, and optimizing database queries and code execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Build and maintain advanced Gutenberg blocks using hooks, APIs, and custom theme logic
  • Optimize database queries and code execution for improved performance
  • Integrate with REST APIs and support complex integrations/microservices
  • Work in Docker/Podman environments and collaborate with front-end integrators to connect blocks/themes while owning the backend architecture

Required Skills and Qualifications


To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills:

  • Deep expertise in PHP and the WordPress ecosystem (hooks, APIs, plugins, themes, Gutenberg)
  • Strong SQL skills and proven experience optimizing queries for performance
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice integration patterns
  • React experience, especially for Gutenberg block development
  • Comfortable with Docker/Podman workflows and Linux environments (WP-CLI, file manipulation, container ops)
  • A performance-minded developer: profiling, measuring, and optimizing code execution
  • MacOS or Linux development environment (mandatory)
  • Good command of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6)
  • Experience working closely with designers and front-end integrators
  • Awareness of accessibility and Core Web Vitals best practices
